Sewing Adventures

I decided I needed to finally get at making a curtain for our door-less closet. I've been saying we needed something since we moved into our current place 3 months ago. So, I first was going to sew rectangles together like a quilt top. Here's all my rectangles:

Suey helped cut them out.

But I didn't like how that was turning out. Too many bold patterns. So, I went with one big piece of fabric. John chose the fabric. It reminds him of somewhere warm (as we watch the snow fall outside!) Here's the finished piece:

I like how fast sewing projects are compared to knitting!

Penelope is Finished

After posting the almost done pictures of Penelope, I got the itch to just finish her. Here she is in her completed state and is all set for my cousin Lacey. I've renamed her Lacey Monster!

Selbuvotter Mittens

Here’s another project on my needles. It is a Selbuvotter mitten and is my second pair. I am going to be teaching these mittens in a class and thought it would be fun to knit along with the students. I started this mitten thinking I’d have one done before the class started. But now that I’m closing the fingers, I realize how huge the mitten is. I’m going frog it but don’t have heart to yet. I hate ripping out any amount of knitting, let alone a whole mitten.

Chopper is helping me knit!

On the Needles: Penelope the Empathetic Monster

Here’s one of the projects that is currently on my needles. I am making Penelope the Empathetic Monster by Danger Crafts. I’ve had my eye on the pattern for a while but I needed an excuse to make it. Now with Christmas coming up, I have decided to make Penelope for my almost 1 year old cousin.
